John Blanchard of the Materials Sciences Division has won a 2013 “Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry Award for Young Scientists.” Sponsored by John Wiley and Sons, the MRC Award is presented annually to outstanding researchers under the age of 40 working with NMR spectroscopy in analytical chemistry within industry or academia in any part of the world. Blanchard, a member of Alex Pines’ research group, was most recently the lead author of a paper in JACS titled “High-Resolution Zero-Field NMR J-Spectroscopy of Aromatic Compounds.”
